The Great Boyne Valley Bake Off 2019

The Great Boyne Valley Bake Off just had its inaugural bake off in the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan.

We had 10 talented bakers in the final of the Great Boyne Valley Bake Off. Gerry Meade, Pri and I had the tough task of tasting and judging the fantastic dishes created by our contestants. Each contestant had to use produce from the Boyne Valley and mainly, Martry Mill's stoneground wholemeal flour.

Our winners were three talented teenagers from Nobber Secondary School:

First place: Roisin with an apple crumble
Second place: Caragh with a loaf of brown bread
Third place: Kellie with a carrot cake

Congratulations to our winners on some brilliant baking - and to our finalists who all put in a great effort.

It was inspiring to see young people get involved in baking and getting to know more about their local produce and the importance of supporting local producers.
